Ground has broken on the first cluster of single family homes in an innovative new village-style neighborhood called Ansley Ames, which brings the flavor of a European country village to southern edge of Ames, Iowa home of Iowa State University.
Beginning with thirty distinctive single family homes, this initial development will be followed by townhomes, cottages, gathering spaces and businesses, all woven together in a European-style village that is in tune with nature at the edge of peaceful Iowa farmland. The community has been designed with features such as hidden garages, private gardens and connecting pathways. At the center of it all is a living pond and an abundance of natural space to play and celebrate. It is a community where you can belong, where families can grow, traditions created and friendships forged.

A love for Iowa's natural beauty is how our conservation story begins.
Ansley is the ideal opportunity to honor this passion and sense of stewardship by returning the land to the prairie that came first.
Ansley's open spaces will be restored and nurtured into a rich tapestry of native grasses and wildflowers. Iowa native trees will be planted, bio swales and rain gardens built that will foster best environmental practices. The overall effect will be a native landscape inhabiting most of our open spaces. As the flowering grasslands returns, so will the essential insect population where the birds and butterflies will flourish.
Our village design will connect people to each other and to the activities that keep us healthy. The extensive walkways, bikeway, pond, and natural play spaces will encourage wholistic habits while enjoying the beauty of nature and its constant source of inspiration.
